The Renaissance Lawyer Virtual Community provides a structure for communicating
in the comfort of your own home or office. Teleclasses and salons are scheduled for the
most convenient times, based on several time zones and address the issues most
interesting and relevant to the lawyer or coach. The topics for lawyers are
related to establishing a foundation of personal and professional fulfillment in
legal practice. For coaches, our teleclasses support you in providing the
highest quality service to your lawyer clients.
How
teleclasses work:
In a teleclass, each class member dials the teleclass number, which connects all
the participants and the course leaders on a bridge (or teleconferencing) line.
This allows you to be in the class from your home or office, eliminating travel
costs. Your cost, in addition to tuition, is the long distance call. In
the first class or on email prior to the class, we will discuss the mechanics of
how to participate and get the most value from a teleclass.
How the Email
Community works:
In between teleclass sessions, you may receive homework and communications by
email. You will be included in a group and you may communicate with your
classmates and course leaders by sending one email to the whole group. You may
also email the course leaders privately if you have a concern you do not wish to
share with the entire group. At times, email "discussions" will occur
between teleclass sessions, either to prepare you for the next session or to
continue and deepen discussion about a previous topic. The email settings can
limit the volume of email you receive to only one email, a digest, each day or
you may read all mail on the web.
Guest speakers:
Sometimes we will offer guest speakers who have particularly relevant topics for
our classes. Past speakers included: Steven Keeva, author of Transforming
Practices; Susan Daicoff, professor of law and expert on the comprehensive law
model and on lawyer personalities; Carl Michael Rossi, an attorney and therapist
and others.
