LETTING OUR LIGHT SHINE:  EXPLORING TRANSFORMATIONAL APPROACHES TO THE LAW

Our deepest fear is not that we are inadequate. Our deepest fear is that we are powerful beyond measure. It is our light, not our darkness, that most frightens us. We ask ourselves, who am I to be brilliant, gorgeous, talented and fabulous? Actually, who are you not to be? You are a child of God. Your playing small does not serve the world. There's nothing enlightened about shrinking so that other people won't feel insecure around you. We are all meant to shine, as children do. We were born to make manifest the glory of God that is within us. It's not just in some of us; it's in everyone. And as we let our own light shine, we unconsciously give other people permission to do the same. As we're liberated from our own fear, our presence automatically liberates others.

Marianne Williamson, A Return to Love

Since the founding of RLS, we have had many conversations with lawyers across the country who are relieved to discover that they are not alone in their desire to practice law in a more meaningful way.  Lawyers who have considered leaving the profession are encouraged to discover that it is possible to live balanced lives in which they experience joy and satisfaction and give their families the time, love and attention they deserve while making a difference in the lives of their clients and in their communities.  Yet many also continue to experience reluctance to act upon their desire to create a more visionary, humanistic approach to the law which is suited to their own unique talents and interests.  They question their ability to create new ways of practicing law which feed their soul while still making money and feeling at home in the legal community.

Change and growth are often easier when done with the support of a community of like-minded individuals. Join us in Ft. Lauderdale , Florida to hear from others who have successfully crafted law practices which bring about healing and connection, both within the traditional judicial system of zealous advocacy and alternative resolution approaches.
